We were the first!
Industry First: In 1991 we were the first to provide a true online ordering system using "bulletin board " software called Worldgroup, that we redesigned for our use. It allowed our clients to connect to our servers via a modem to place and review their orders.
Industry First: In 1998 we were the first to provide live instant messaging capabilities to our clients from our website, using Lotus Sametime. Now using LiveAgent, we continue to be the only company in our industry providing this service.

Data Search was founded in 1978 by Benjamin J. Renko Sr. as a local title and appraisal company, consisting of 2 employees and covering the Delmarva area. Benjamin J. Renko Jr. joined the company in 1980 and is the current President and a minority shareholder. Mr. Renko Sr. continues to remain active with the company as a consultant and majority shareholder.
Our original office was in the Empire Towers Building (the tallest building in Anne Arundel County) located in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In 1999 we moved to our new facility in the Cromwell Park Business Complex also located in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
On September 11, 2001 we closed our offices after the attacks because our building was in the flight path of BWI airport and for fear that additional planes were in the area.
On August 23, 2011 an earthquake registering 5.8 on the Richter scale hit our area causing our building to violently shake but we suffered no major damage.
Data Search has been featured in Inc. Magazine, the Washington Post, and the Credit Union Times.
Some of the charities we support include Metro Maryland Youth for Christ, Latvian Mission, Anne Arundel County Food Bank and Holiday Sharing Program, The Lufsgarten Foundation, The "V" Foundation, and the American Red Cross.
